ABOUT ME
MY CAREER
My name is Stephen Matheny. I am a teacher at Hudson Middle School. I obtained my BS in Interdisciplinary Studies: Mathematics 4-8th grade. I love computers and enjoy creating tech solutions that make people happy and more efficient!
I began my career as an after school teacher while in college. When I graduated I taught at Livingston Jr. High as a 6th grade maths teacher. Two years later I became an 8th grade maths teacher at Hudson MS. After a successful year I was asked to teach 6th grade maths so that I could also teach 3d Design, due to my experience in animations. Once the year was complete I was then asked to teach CTE (Career & Technical Education) courses in order to offer students the opportunity to receive High School credits in MS. I now teach Computer Science, CAD (Computer Aided Design), 3d Design, and Hydroponics.

Throughout my career I have developed my many apps that have allowed me to acquire skills that I would have never dreamed of having. I've had to adapt to many situations and learn new skills as new problems would be presented. I have experience working with teams and individuals on creating apps that fit the need of all involved.

I enjoy a challenge and I love learning new skills! Especially when those skills help others.
MY FAMILY & INTEREST
I have a daughter that brings joy to my world. She is intelligent, beautiful, funny, and kind. I encourage her to learn each and every day. I aspire to be the best father I can be! She is my favorite person in the entire galaxy! Everything I do, I do it for her.

My interest include coding, computers, chess, and board games. To give some insight, I have a collection of over 60 board games that continues to grow. I mainly enjoy strategic adventure games that require skill and logic. My favorite board game is Near and Far.

My favorite TV show is The Office. I often use quotes from the show in my classes and in daily life. Parks and Rec is a close second. I feel I have a lot of qualities similar to Michael Scott in regards to his love for family and people. I relate to Ben Wyatt as well because I am nerdy and would love to design a board game one day.
